West Australian psych-rockers POND today reveal national dates in March, beginning in their hometown at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Sunday 3 March, and continuing through to Brisbane’s The Triffid on Tuesday 5 March, Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Wednesday 6 March, and Melbourne’s The Croxton Bandroom on Thursday 7 March.
TICKETS ON SALE 10AM (LOCAL TIME), FRIDAY 1 FEBRUARY
The band announce their first local shows since 2017, fresh from sell-out dates across a pair of North American tours, and a slew of festival appearances. Pond will perform for their Australian fans in support of their upcoming eighth album ‘TASMANIA’ - out March 1.
New single ‘Daisy’, released this month, adds to album tasters ‘Sixteen Days’ and ‘Burnt Out Star’. ‘TASMANIA’ (produced by the band and Kevin Parker) contrasts the shame of being Australian - being human - and loving the environment. Electronic textures and gleaming pop centrepieces paint this dystopia with a refined brush in one of their most radiant offerings yet.
Pond possess an ever-expanding performance resumé, having toured with Arctic Monkeys, MGMT and Flaming Lips. They stunned at premiere musical festivals around the world including Primavera, Coachella, Bonnaroo, South by Southwest, Laneway Festival, Splendour In The Grass and more, and have sold out countless venues around the globe from New York’s Bowery Ballroom to Paris’ La Gaite Lyrique and London’s O2 Forum.
A polished set of organised chaos, Pond deliver their sparkling psych-rock with enigmatic pop-chops, resulting in a widely loved live show.
